Privacy Policy
Last updated: July 22, 2026
This Privacy Policy explains what data Museum Catalogue (the “App”), published by Transcending Digital LLC (“we,” “us,” or “our”), collects, how it is used, and who to contact with questions.
Who this App is for
The App is a kiosk application intended to run on a tablet owned and managed by a museum, visitor center, trade show, or similar organization (“the operator”). It is not directed at children, and we do not knowingly collect personal information from children under 13.
Data stored only on the device
The following information is stored locally on the tablet running the App and is never transmitted to us or to any third party:
- Collection content added by the operator's staff — photos, video, and audio files, along with their Dublin Core metadata (title, creator, date, subject, description, rights, and similar fields).
- The administrator access code used to unlock the App's media-management tools.
- App settings, such as the collection's display name and idle-timeout duration.
This data stays on the device until an administrator deletes it or the App is uninstalled. We have no access to it and no way to retrieve it remotely.
Data you choose to send us
The App includes an optional “Send Feedback” form (available to signed-in administrators from the About screen). If you use it, we receive:
- The feedback text you enter.
- An email address, only if you choose to provide one — this field is optional.
- The date and time of submission.
We use this information solely to review feedback and, if you provided an email address, to respond to you. We do not sell this information or share it with third parties other than the cloud infrastructure providers that host our backend services on our behalf. We retain feedback submissions for as long as reasonably necessary to review and act on them.
Device permissions
The App requests the following device access, each used only for the stated purpose:
- Photo and video library — to let an administrator select existing photos or videos to add to the collection.
- File storage — to save collection media and metadata on the device.
- Network access — used only to submit optional feedback (see above); browsing the collection works fully offline.
The App does not request camera, microphone, location, or contacts access.
Advertising
The App has Google's Mobile Ads SDK integrated for potential future use, but advertising is not currently enabled — no ads are shown, and the ads SDK does not initialize or communicate with Google in this version of the App. If we enable advertising in a future version, we will update this policy first to describe the data that ads collection would involve, which would be governed by Google's own privacy policy, available at policies.google.com/privacy.
Data we do not collect
The App does not use analytics or crash-reporting services, does not require an account or sign-in, and does not track visitors who use the kiosk to browse the collection.
Your choices
Because collection content and settings are stored only on the device, an administrator can delete any item directly in the App, or clear all App data through the device's settings. To request access to, or deletion of, feedback you've submitted to us, contact us using the details below.
Security
We take reasonable measures to protect the information we receive, but no method of transmission or storage is completely secure, and we cannot guarantee absolute security.
Changes to this policy
We may update this Privacy Policy from time to time. Material changes will be reflected by updating the “Last updated” date above.
